In an attempt to encourage Filipinos to get vaccinated against the 2019 Coronavirus Disease, President Rodrigo Duterte appeared on his first infomercial.

"I invite all our kababayans to be vaccinated at the earliest possible opportunity because this is the most, if not the only way, effective way to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic," the President said in a Department of Health (DOH) informercial.

"Let us all keep in mind that the vaccine does not only protect you from the virus. It will also protect your loved ones, especially the sick and the elderly," he added.

President Duterte stressed that the participation of the public in the COVID-19 vaccination campaign of the DOH, dubbed as 'Resbakuna: Kasangga ng BIDA', will also allow the country to reopen the economy and return to normal.
