The Philippines will experience isolated rains brought by localized thunderstorms on Sunday, August 25 the DOST-PAGASA said.
The weather bulletin issued at 4:00 AM said that Typhoon Shanshan has no direct effect in any parts of the country, as there are no indications that it will enter the Philippine area of responsibility.
Consequently, the southwest monsoon will bring a high possibility of rain and thunderstorms to the western parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Caution is advised for locals as landslides and floods may occur.
The agency is also monitoring the west of Southern Luzon for the possibility of a low pressure area forming.
Meanwhile, cloudy skies and scattered rains will be experienced in the MIMAROPA region.

While western Visayas, Negros Island, Zamboanga, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, have a high chance of experiencing thunderstorms brought by the southwest monsoon.
Cloudy skies and isolated rains brought by localized thunderstorms will be experienced for the rest of Visayas and Mindanao. However, the DOST-PAGASA noted that in times of severe thunderstorms, moderate to heavy rain may occur, causing floods and landslides.
