The Tropang Giga regained the lead in the best-of-seven finals series after routing Brgy. Ginebra, 99-72, on Game Five on Wednesday, November 6, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
Both Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and RR Pogoy finished with 16 points, while Calvin Oftana added 15 markers to put TNT at the cusp of their second straight PBA Governors Cup title.
Tropang Giga never let go of the lead after Kelly Williams scored the first five points of the game.
TNT continued to dominate the court in the second quarter, and a 10-point scoring run allowed the defending champions to widen the gap, 36-20.
At the end of the first half, the Gin Kings saw themselves trailing behind by 23 points, 56-33.
The lead of TNT grew to as high as 36 points, 89-53, after Brian Heruela buried a three-point basket in the final period of the match.
LA Tenorio and Scottie Thompson both scored 13 points while Stephen Holt tallied 10 markers to pace Ginebra.
Tropang Giga has a chance to end the series on Game Six on Friday, November 8, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
