A yellow alert status was placed on the Luzon grid on Thursday, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced.

According to NGCP, a yellow alert will take effect from 3 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The available capacity is 15,115 MW, with a peak demand of 13,818 MW.
"4 plants have been on forced outages since 2023, 3 between January and March 2024, and 13 since April 2024, while 1 other is running on derated capacity, for a total of 1369.3 MW unavailable to the grid," the NGCP's advisory read.
A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid’s contingency requirement.
