Boomerang Awards 2024 honors excellence in Digital Marketing

The Boomerang Awards 2024, hosted by the Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines (DMAP), once again recognized exceptional talent and innovation in the country's digital marketing industry.

Held on October 16 at the Col|Lab Space in Sheraton Manila, the event showcased cutting-edge campaigns that pushed the boundaries of creativity and effectiveness.

Maya Philippines, Inc. retained its title as Advertiser of the Year, while Dentsu Creative Manila was crowned Agency of the Year for its outstanding contributions to digital marketing. The evening's biggest winner, however, was MullenLowe TREYNA with its impactful “Right to Care” campaign for the Quezon City Gender and Development Council, which earned the prestigious White Boomerang award and the coveted Best of Show title.

This year’s awards received a total of 393 entries across 17 main categories and 7 special categories, underscoring the dynamic nature of the digital marketing landscape in the Philippines.

The White Boomerang, awarded for groundbreaking innovation, took center stage this year, with the “Right to Care” campaign being lauded for its far-reaching impact and creative approach.

The theme of the 2024 Boomerang Awards, "Be Greater," challenged nominees to exceed expectations in innovation, creativity, and overall impact.

Event co-chairs Kit Ramos Disini and Jace Susara reflected on this year’s ambitions, with Disini commenting, "This year’s theme, ‘Be Greater,’ was an ambitious vision that the Booms team embraced wholeheartedly. Every aspect, from the meticulous jury deliberation process in selecting winners to curating every detail of the event, had to be greater than ever before while ensuring cohesive synergy across our key themes of innovation, creativity, and impact."

The 2024 jury, led by Valerie Madon, Chief Creative Officer of McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific, praised the world-class quality of the local entries.

"I’ve judged many international shows, and it’s rare to see enough Philippine entries. But here, I witnessed so many exceptional works. These deserve more international attention — the quality is truly world-class!" Madon remarked.

In addition to the awards, the night featured performances by popular bands such as Sandwich, Chicosci, and Itchyworms, as well as August Wahh and legendary musician Ely Buendia, adding an energetic vibe to the celebration.
