The Creamline Cool Smashers have clinched their ninth Premier Volleyball League (PVL) title by triumphing in the 2024 Reinforced Conference.
Creamline swept the undefeated Akari Power Chargers, led by the standout performance of Bernadette Pons, who was named both the ‘MVP of the Conference’ and ‘Finals MVP’. Pons delivered an impressive 19 points, including 14 attacks, guiding her team to victory.
"It's the team work talaga, sobrang team effort since the start of the conference. Sobrang tulong tulong talaga kami every game and every point, collective effort din talaga," Pons said in an interview with DZRHTV.
Adding to Creamline's strong performance were import Erica Staunton with 13 points and Michele Gumabao with 10 points.
The Cool Smashers maintained a consistent level of play, securing a dominant 25-15 win in the first set, a close 25-23 victory in the second, and a decisive 25-17 win in the final set.
"Syempre sobrang happy ako at nakuha namin 'yung championship ngayong conference kahit na mahirap talaga kasi nga may mag import," said Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses.
This victory marks Creamline’s ninth PVL title in the league’s history.
Meanwhile, Akari finished with the silver medal, while the Cignal HD Spikers secured the bronze.
