Filipina-Japanese volleyball star Risa Sato joined the Chery Tiggo Crossovers after a successful stint with her former team, marking a new chapter in her Premier Volleyball League (PVL) career.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, the team announced Sato's addition to their "growing family."
"Your skills and energy are a game-changer, and we can’t wait to have you on the court with us," the Cherry Tiggo Crossovers said in their caption.

On November 8, 2024, Sato's former team, the Creamline Cool Smashers, revealed that the volleyball player had requested an early release from her contract, which was originally set to expire at the end of December.
Sato is set to reunite with her former National University (NU) teammates—Jennifer Nierva, Cess Robles, Jasmine Nabor, and Joyme Cagande—on her new team.
The Filipina champion will join forces with the team’s frontline, including Aby Maraño, Shaya Adorador, and Pauline Gaston, in the upcoming matches.
In the 12-team competition, Chery Tiggo sits in fourth place with a 4-2 record, setting the stage for a competitive run.
