As Creamline Smashers star player Alyssa Valdez recovers from her right knee injury, the date for her return to the upcoming 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference is still indefinite.

With the new season coming on Feb 4, Valdez's doctors were still doubtful if she can already play on the volleyball court.

"The doctors and physical therapists said that I’ve been recovering well. Of course, the timetable, they’re not sure,” the volleyball player said.

However, Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses has high hopes of having Valdez at the end of February as she is now making progress in her recovery.

“Hopefully, by the end of February, she will be 100 percent to play in the court. As of now, she is still undergoing rehab but she can now move and jump. But she has been showing good signs of improvement from her rehab. Hopefully, by the end of February or March she will be cleared to play,” the coach explained.

It was last December when Valdez suffered from a knee injury due to her bad fall at the PVL Reinforced Conference bronze medal match against Chery Tiggo.

With her absence, adjustments with Cool Smashers' starters were made with Michele Gumabao, Tots Carlos as an outside hitter, and Jia De Guzman as team captain.
