With his second Olympics stint now over, Eumir Marcial turns his focus on his professional boxing career.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, August 21, the 28-year old Filipino boxer hinted on a possible fight this upcoming December.
"I guess I’ll see you guys back in the ring on December," Marcial said.
The two-time Olympian also assured that another Olympics stint remains in the table for him, and that he continues to aim for the elusive gold medal in the prestigious Games.
"I am not closing my doors in wanting to achieve my ultimate dream, which is to win an Olympic gold medal. But I think I’m making the right decision to pour my focus into my professional career, and in continuing to bring honor to our country," Marcial said.
Since he became a professional boxer in 2020, Marcial has emerged victorious in all five of his matches, three of which he won via knockouts.
Marcial took a break in his professional boxing career in order to compete in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
The Paris Games journey of Marcial came to an abrupt end after he suffered a unanimous decision loss at the hands of Uzbekistani boxer Turabek Khabibullaev in the Round of 16 in the men's -80 kilograms division.
