After being run over by his own snow plow after trying to climb into the driver's seat of the giant 14,000-lb vehicle, Marvel superhero actor Jeremy Renner updated his fans on Tuesday, saying he was "messed up."
On Sunday, Renner suffered severe injuries near his home in Nevada while attempting to stop the PistenBully machine that started rolling forward after using it to help free a stranded family member's vehicle from heavy snow.
Renner updated his fans through a selfie posted on his Instagram, showing a bruise on his face while lying in his hospital bed.
"Thank you all for your kind words. I'm too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all," he captioned.

According to the actor's publicist, he had undergone surgery and was "making positive progress and is awake, talking, and in good spirits."
In a press conference, it was clarified that there was no indication that drink or drugs were involved and it was a "tragic accident."
Sheriff Balaam mentioned that the investigation was ongoing due to "severe injuries" that the Marvel actor suffered, which includes checking mechanical failure signs.
According to him, the emergency responders faced difficulty to reach Renner due to three feet of snowfall the previous night, forcing several drivers to abandon their cars on a nearby highway.
Renner was praised as a "great neighbor" who used his machine to plow private roads for nearby residents.
He holds the honorary title of deputy sheriff and was popularly called "Hawkeye" by the children after portraying a superhero role in several Marvel films and recent miniseries.
Renner has been nominated for two Oscars for playing his characters well in "The Hurt Locker" and "The Town."
