The versatility of Justin Baltazar served as the deciding factor for the Converge FibeXers to pick him in the 2024 PBA Rookie Draft on Sunday, July 14, in Makati.
FiberXers Coach Aldin Ayo reiterated that the team looked for a versatile big man, and Baltazar has all the qualities that Converge wants.
"Big man, skilled, nandito lahat," Ayo told reporters.
Ayo said that Baltazar can play multiple positions, and welcomes the idea of fielding him alongside Converge Center Justin Arana.
During his collegiate years, the top pick in the 2024 PBA Roookie Class also played under Ayo, when he coached the De La Salle University Green Archers.
"Aside from the talent and the skills that he has, I know him, we know him personally, and we know that he is a winner. We know that he is going to do whatever it takes to help our team win," he added.
The FiberXers seeks to bounce back after only recording a total of three wins in the 2023-2024 PBA season.
