The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Thursday, September 19, that at least 23 people perished due to the effects of Tropical Storms Ferdie, Helen, Tropical Depression Gener, and the southwest monsoon.
Based on the latest situation report of the NDRRMC, MIMAROPA recorded nine fatalities, while Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) each reported four deaths.
Central Visayas also recorded two fatalities.
NDRRMC also reported that 15 people went missing, including 12 in Western Visayas, two in the Zamboanga Peninsula, and one in Western Visayas.
The agency further reported that 13 individuals suffered injuries including seven in BARMM, three in MIMAROPA, two in Soccsksargen, and one in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
NDRRMC said that the number of deaths, injured individuals, and missing persons still need to undergo validation.
The agency added that the series of weather disturbances affected 298,633 families, or 1,061,421 individuals, in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, and BARMM.
