Tropical Storm 'Marce' now inside PAR

Tropical Storm "Marce" has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday, November 4, the PAGASA reported.

According to PAGASA weather forecaster Patrick Del Mundo, "Marce," which entered the PAR at 12 a.m., was last located 935 km east of Eastern Visayas as of 4 a.m. It is moving northwestward at 25 km/h, with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 80 km/h.

In the next 24 hours, Marce is expected to remain at tropical storm strength but is projected to intensify into a severe tropical storm by tomorrow, November 5, while traversing east of Aurora.

Del Mundo noted that Marce could reach typhoon status by Wednesday, November 6, potentially impacting Northern Luzon.

Currently, no gale warning has been raised; however, in the coming days, gale warnings may be issued, particularly for parts of Northern Luzon.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 may be hoisted over portions of Cagayan by tomorrow.

The highest wind signal that may be raised due to Marce is Wind Signal No. 4.
